Here are some of the assignments undertaken by Trilemma UK Ltd. since its formation in July 2007

  • Undertaking strategic review of the GB investment strategy for a large overseas utility  
  • Working with UK Government (BERR) on a number of policy challenges arising from the new EU 2020 renewable energy targets*
  • Supporting OFGEM on their supply market probe 
  • Developing a regulatory and energy policy strategy for a new entrant supply business
  • Supporting OFGEM on the review of industry governance
  • Exploring options to revise the Renewables Obligation to improve its effectiveness and efficiency in delivering the EU 2020 renewable energy targets - working for UK Government (DECC)*
  • Analysis of policies to support demonstration of carbon capture and storage - working for UK Government (DECC)* 
  • Project to model power sector investments out to 2030 for Committee on Climate Change*
  • Supporting a small supply company in preparing it's reponse to the Government consultation on smart metering

In April 2009, Simon was appointed as Senior Associate of E3G (Third Generation Environmentalism) to lead a project exploring the potential to decarbonise the European power sector. This work involves close collaboration with key policy stakeholders at Member State and EU levels along with driving leading edge research into the energy policy landscape.
As part of this work, Simon has:
 
- Undertaken an analysis of the roadmap toward a smart grid for the Green Alliance, and

- Supported the major European Climate Foundation project to develop 2050 scenarios for the EU energy market.
